South Korean health officials believe that the country is currently experiencing a second wave of the spread of the Coruna virus, although the figures recorded are relatively low.
South Korea is seen as a success story in dealing with Covid-19 disease, but now it expects the epidemic to last for several months.
Jeong Yoon-kyung, director of the Korean Centers for Disease Control, said the first wave continued until April.
However, since last May, the number of new hot spot cases has been increasing, including the recording of cases at nightclubs in the capital, Seoul.
On Monday, officials said, within 24 hours, 17 cases of multiple foci had been registered in large offices and warehouses.
Earlier on Monday, Daejeon, south of the capital, announced that it would ban gatherings in public places, such as museums and libraries, after discovering small hotspots of the virus.
